Google+ Expected To Reach 400 Million Users In 2012, Site Numbers Steadily Increasing

Google Plus Membership Growth

Google+ experienced the best month of the sites short life in December when the social network added 55% of their user base to the social platform.

According to Experian Hitwise the network more than doubled it’s traffic in December. Experian Hitwise Tweeted:

“Google+ total US visits reach more than 49 million in Dec-11, biggest month to date up 55% compared to Nov-11 ow.ly/i/oT3R.”

Hitwise has also found that over the eight of the last nine weeks Google+ had trended in a positive fashion for both traffic and user acquisition.

In the meantime Ancestory.com founder Paul Allen says the network is on track to reach 400 million users by the end of 2012 while he places the sites overall user base at 62 million people at this time. If that 62 million mark is correct it is a much faster acquisition rate than Facebook which took four years to reach the same 60 million users.

Are you using Google+ and if not do you plan to sign up in 2012?
