Unexpected “Sneaker Wave” Almost Drowns Cameraman

A sneaker wave is just like a normal wave accept it breaks all the natural laws of a regular wave you would see in the ocean. By definition, “a sneaker wave (sometimes called a sleeper wave, or in Australia a king wave) is a disproportionately large coastal wave that can sometimes appear in a wave train without warning.”

That is exactly what we see here, and the end result seems more like a mini tsunami:

I am most impressed with the man taking the video’s amazingly quick reaction time. That sneaker wave would’ve swept them up and away. It may look small and insignificant but the tides and undertow that come with things like that are not to be messed with.

Also, this video stands as another piece of concrete proof that mother nature wants us off her planet. And honestly, at this point, who can blame her?
