Facebook mobile has 604 million monthly active users and according to Facebook advertising firm Qwaya, the average user spends eight hours per month accessing the social network on their mobile device.
75 percent of the world’s population has a mobile phone and in the next two years there will be more mobile subscriptions than people. The advertising firm notes that 50 percent of mobile phone subscriptions in the US are now for smartphones. Among the one billion monthly active Facebook users, 57 percent access Facebook mobile on their cellular devices.
Mobile has been a key area for growth with Facebook with a 67 percent growth year over year for mobile monthly active users. When it comes to time spent on other platforms via mobile here are the stats:
- Google – 4 hours, 51 minutes
- Yahoo – 1 hour, 17 minutes
- Microsoft – 1 hour, 6 minutes
30 percent of all time spent on the top 10 mobile properties in the US is on Facebook.
