#KylieJennerChallenge

It’s no secret that many teen girls admire Kylie Jenner. She lives a luxurious life and is absolutely gorgeous. While we all can’t have her expensive cars or wardrobe, there is one thing many of her fans are trying to copy: Kylie Jenner’s plump lips.

The youngest Jenner’s lips have made headlines recently. Where did they come from? How does she achieve them? Kylie denies ever going under the knife and says her lips are natural. Is there really a way to achieve her look without medical intervention? That’s where the #KylieJennerChallenge comes in. Could this really be the way to get full, plump lips? As the challenge quickly began trending on Twitter, it was evident people were willing to try anything to achieve her look. We’ll let the viral photos from #KylieJennerchallenge do the talking…

What is the #KylieJennerChallenge anyways?

The new craze is actually pretty bizarre. It involves the participant sucking on a bottle or a shot glass and creating powerful suction on their lips for about five minutes. After holding the suction for a while and enduring a bit of pain, the lips and surrounding area began to swell. But, what people don’t realize is they swell ALOT, and bruise, and go numb, not exactly a very pleasant process.

The challenge led to hundreds of disappointed teens.

Most people with half a brain can tell this challenge is a bad idea before even attempting it. Even so, hundreds of girls and boys gave the #KylieJennerChallenge a go and the results were hilarious, well not for them.

Hundreds of photos and videos captured some of the shocked reactions of the teens as they realized they had made a horrible mistake. Many immediately regretted ever attempting the challenge.

With many attempts caught on video, the reactions are actually pretty hilarious.

Normal people just wanted it to stop.

There were those rational people out in the Twitter world that were wondering where this nonsense even came from.

As if looking like a fool with massive lips wasn’t enough to stop people from attempting the challenge, how about permanent scarring and damage? One person even cut their lip during the challenge after the bottle they were using broke.

Parents began to freak out.

As one of most ridiculous DIY cosmetic trends ever invented, parents are on high alert to prevent their child from participating. Medical Daily made it their mission to fill parent’s in on the craze.

While teens think this is a harmless stunt and the swelling is a minor injury, experts are speaking about how dangerous this challenge can really be.

“I can definitely say that this would be dangerous even just to try it, and especially somebody who does it more than once,” cosmetic surgeon Pordiis Kjartansdottir told Metro.co.uk. “The lips turn blue because blood fills up and they could easily become infected and lose all sensation. It is a really dangerous stunt and I’d advise strongly against anybody trying it.”

Is this what Kylie Jenner does?

Well, kinda. Maybe. While the reality television star denies any plastic surgery and credits growing up to her fuller lips, Kylie once mentioned a lip-plumping technique. She once received CandyLipz in a swag bag. Could this be the key to her makeover?

CandyLipz promises fuller lips in mere minutes with their cupping technique, which is a slightly modified suctioning lip plumper. Besides a line of lip plumpers, the brand even carries a mouth cup. Even though this seems to be a legit product with visible results, users of the product do say the process is painful and usually leaves heavy bruising which has to be covered up with heavy makeup. So, it’s not exactly the miracle tool…

Whatever. At least we can all agree that the #KylieJennerChallenge has got to stop. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, but this has gone way too far. Even Kylie Jenner said it herself, “Stop talking about my lips!”
