Here’s Emma Watson’s ‘Horrifying’ Tumblr, Which She Made For ‘The Bling Ring’

Emma Watson Bling Ring

Emma Watson is so method. To prepare for her role as a materialistic and fame-obsessed teen, the quirky 23-year-old actress made what has been called a “horrifying” Tumblr account.

“NickiMooreForever” is the title of the 16-post Tumblr created by Watson in March 2012 in preparation for her Bling Ring role. The account shows Watson’s open contempt for Alexis Neiers, the real-life Bling Ring member on whom her film character is based.

The background is an incredibly tacky zebra-print blatantly ripped from Shutterstock, the ramblings on the blog glibly close with “Namaste,” and there are several entries dedicated to the worship of Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie and Audrina Patridge.

It’s actually pretty impressive that Watson was able to nail her character to the wall in 16 posts.

The negative animus Watson has toward Neiers is something that drove her to the role, because it constituted a challenge in the Harry Potter star’s eyes.

“The character is everything that I felt strongly against — she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate?” she said in a May interview with GQ.

“But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be.”

Neiers herself is no fan of the movie, which depicts her and her pals stealing from some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. She pled no contest to felony burglary charges and served 30 days in 2010.
