Emma Watson Definitively Crushes ‘Fifty Shades’ Rumors On Twitter

Emma Watson confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is not starring in Fifty Shades of Grey, and finds it pretty ridiculous that her name would be attached to the S&M mommy porn project in the first place.

Rumors of Watson’s casting as female lead Anastasia Steele in the planned film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey were initially circulated by Internet hackers, but caught major steam after it was confirmed that Mila Kunis was not interested in the part.

Kunis was the original front-runner for the role, but all of the casting rumors are just pure speculation at this point, with Universal Pictures and author E.L. James admitting that they’re nowhere near courting actors just yet.

Watson has long been a second-runner for the Steele role, but has played fairly coy about her casting in Fifty Shades of Grey. Maybe not coy, but her comments haven’t exactly been clear-cut denials.

“I haven’t read the book, I haven’t a read a script, nothing,” she said in July of 2012. “There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo –- I never even saw a script!”

Maybe Watson thinks that’s a clear “no,” but fans lobbying for her in the role only read “… yet.”

“The thing is I’m not going to go out there every time someone attaches me to a film to say no or release a statement,” she said in another interview, but that’s not exactly a “no” either.

With Kunis dropped from the running, and Watson speculation running at an all-time high, the Harry Potter actress decided to definitively quash the rumors on her Twitter account, adding that she wouldn’t even be interested in Fifty Shades Of Grey if it were offered to her in the first place.

The actress then added:

We imagine her, arms crossed, tapping her foot with that Hermione-patented stink face on.

So there you have it. Emma Watson is officially out of the speculation mill for Fifty Shades of Grey. Who’s next in the gossip circuit? Emma Stone? Selena Gomez? Amanda Seyfried? … Kim Kardashian?
