Ebay’s biggest troll has been doxxed and outed by a local news station.
Chuck Fitch, aka “Ebayisajoke” had a simple M.O. … He would outbid everyone on an item, and then not pay. Oh, and he’d leave a dismal review for the seller.
He also has a YouTube channel where he posts videos about why Ebay is such a scam. He rails against Ebay’s MasterCard deal, says the site’s payment system is in violation of California law, and even accuses them of using subliminal messaging in their videos.
Oh, did we mention that he alters his voice and wears a Guy Fawkes mask in his videos? Though we can’t say for sure whether he can be considered a member of the Internet hactivist group Anonymous, we kind of doubt it. DailyDot’s Kevin Collier said of Fitch:
“He strikes a balance between someone whose identity you can’t immediately place and someone whose message you can’t possibly force yourself to care about.”
Pretty straight forward troll.
Anyway, My Fox Detroit’s Rob Wolchek managed to pulled the lid off of Ebayisajoke’s little operation by hiring a private investigator to follow the digital trail. Apparently, he wasn’t hard to find.
Ironically enough, they found him through his Amazon.com seller’s profile.
Anyway, on Fitch’s blog “EBAYBLOWS.ORG,” Ebayisajoke still refers to his online persona in the third person, and won’t confirm or deny whether he’s been outed. One thing’s for sure. He will not stop.
In fact, now it’s personal. He’s going after Joe DeMarco, a hubcap dealer who was victimized by Ebayisajoke and interviewed on My Fox Detroit in Wolchek’s piece.
“Ebayisajoke is not going to give up until Joe’s business is gone off eBay, so count the few days you have left because it’s all coming to an end very soon my friend,” Fitch wrote on his most recent blog post.
He’ll have plenty of time to destroy DeMarco’s business since, according to Wolchek’s investigation, Fitch / Ebayisajoke rarely leaves the house, except to pick up some fast food or go to the theater … alone.
