As the 2016 election season heats up, the Donald Trump Tumblr presence has become increasingly negative while the Bernie Sanders support has exploded. The social media platform is notoriously popular with left-leaning millennials. Last week SND reported Tumblr’s explosion over Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar win. The site also made headlines when a female Tinder user dedicated her blog to her exploits trolling matches to support Bernie.
Unfortunately, she met with many of the unsavory characters on the infamous app.
But now Mr. Trump has revealed how sensitive he is about his hands. In a recent episode of John Oliver Tonight, the host dug out a 1980 Vanity Fair article in which the reporter called Trump a “short fingered vulgarian”. Immediately, somebody bought the domain shortfingers.com and hosted the site on Tumblr. This is particularly ironic because Trump tries very hard to get all the domain names that could paint him in a negative light. He owns TrumpNetworkSucks.com, ImBeingSuedByTheDonald.com, DonaldTrumpPonziScheme.com and thousands more. He also bought Jeb Bush’s domain when that expired and used it to re-route visitors to his site.
Of course, the guy that owns loser.com isn’t giving in, that site still re-routes you to Trump’s wikipedia page. But shortfingers.com is a Donald Trump Tumblr site that features photoshopped images of the presidential candidate with hilariously short fingers. And the images are getting a lot of traffic.
A shotgun in those hands will never be frightening.
This last one is my personal favorite.
With another few months in the election season we expect big things out of Mr. Trump’s presence on Tumblr and from the great users who take the time to photoshop him.
