We all know Chick-fil-A has yummy chicken and waffle fries! Though in a recent blog post, the chain unveiled peculiar food items that almost made their menu.

The Cranberry Orange Bagel, which was square-shaped, was served as a breakfast item with cream cheese and breakfast chicken fillet on the side. Back in 2006, this practically made it to the big time.
“It was just so far out there, ahead of its time,” said Chef Christy Cook. “Often that’s what happens. The market isn’t ready for it.” Folks who have tried it called it delectable, but the market may not ever be ready for such a divergent item.

Using their super famous biscuit dough and adding butter, cinnamon, and sugar, Chick-fil-A formed the Biscuit Cinnamon Roll. It’s difficult to think of a good reason that the innovation wouldn’t have made it on the menu, however Chef Cook explained to us why.
“Even though the recipe was simple, it was surprisingly complex to make across all our restaurants,” she stated. “Customers loved how it tasted, but because we couldn’t prepare it fresh in our restaurant kitchens each morning and get it right every time, we cut it.”

Made with cheese, the breakfast burrito tortilla and Chick-fil-A Chicken Nuggets, the Chicken Quesadilla didn’t even need additional ingredients. It should have been a home run for the fast food restaurant. So, what happened than?
“We have certain criteria every potential menu item must meet before it’s added to our menu,” noted Chef Shona Jonson. While the quesadilla tasted wonderful, it took way too long to make. Chick-fil-A is big on their speedy service, thereby the quesadilla was snipped from the carte du jour.

The Rosemary Garlic Flatbread Wrap made it all the way to taste testing actually in Myrtle Beach and Memphis, Orlando, so several of you may have consumed this. You had no idea though it was in fact a Chick-fil-A option because it was merely utilized in blind taste tests.
“It was very polarizing,” Chef Jonson expressed. “There were lovers and there were haters.” This wrap was the first wrap actually the chain attempted and they ultimately struck oil with the Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap.
