Can Floyd Mayweather read? The question has been floating around the internet ever since 50 Cent issued an “ESL Challenge” to the boxer on Instagram.
50 Cent, who was deemed “irrelevant” by Mayweather earlier this month, decided to flip the script on the Ice Bucket Challenge and issue a reading challenge to Mayweather instead.
50 Cent, who confused “except” with “accept” in his literacy challenge: writes: “Floyd will you except my ALS/ESL CHALLENGE: I will donate $750k to a charity of your choice, If you can read a full page out of a Harry Potter book out loud without starting and stopping or fucking up. lmao.”
It was a pretty funny challenge… but then we learned that Floyd Mayweather really may struggle with reading.
The Breakfast Club Radio show aired a clip of Mayweather trying to read a promotion today. The promo, called a drop, is just a few simple sentences but you can hear Mayweather really struggling with it. It’s kind of sad.

Of course, “sad” wasn’t really the reaction that came from Twitter. Floyd Mayweather is being relentlessly mocked on the social networking site as more and more people listen to him struggling to read.

So many negative tweets about Floyd Mayweather’s illiteracy… Pretty sure he can’t read any of them.

Floyd Mayweather’s next fight will be with illiteracy.

I doubt that Floyd Mayweather will accept 50 Cent’s challenge, and if he does, I doubt that he’ll be able to complete it. But maybe he can still turn this situation in his favor.
Here’s what you do, Mr. Mayweather. Accept the challenge. Try (and fail) to read a page from a Harry Potter book. Then donate $750,000 to a literacy organization and challenge 50 Cent to do the same.
