Brimfield Police Are Like ‘F*** Off, Kanye!’ Internet’s Like ‘LOL’

Kanye West Brimfield Police

The Brimfield Police Department is kind of an odd social celebrity. For a relatively small Ohio police force, they command a huge social following on Facebook that reaches well beyond their jurisdiction, and it’s all because of Chief David Oliver’s humorous criminal shaming.

Well, “mopes” as he calls them.

Anyway, since the Brimfield Police Department enjoys a national audience of 105,000 and counting, Chief Oliver has a huge soapbox with dramatic sharing potential on which to share his thoughts. He sticks to the crime beat, offering passersby a quirky look at law enforcement in Brimfield, but sometimes he goes for bigger fish. This week, it was Kanye West.

This candid note, full of win, is a response to Ye’s recent claims that rapping is as dangerous as being a cop. In a radio interview over the weekend, he noted with zero irony, “I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, or like war or something.”

“You’re literally going out to do your job every day, knowing that something could happen to you,” he continued.

Hopefully Kanye makes it to the bus stop okay. In the meantime, Chief Oliver’s open-letter to the 36-year-old affluent has earned nearly 100,000 likes and 65,000 shares. Since posting, Brimfield Police Department’s Facebook page has picked up an extra 10,000 followers.

So far, Kanye has not responded.
