Aretha Franklin Is ‘Rolling In The Deep’ [Video]

Aretha Franklin covered Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” last night on Letterman.

The soul legend will be releasing an album of cover songs later this year. In addition to classics like Eta James’ “At Last,” Franklin will also be covering modern hits like “Rolling In The Deep.”

Here’s the video of Aretha Franklin on Letterman last night.

Franklin’s cover of “Rolling In The Deep” on Letterman last night had Twitter applauding. The studio version, however, people have been less than pleased about.

The Washington Post notes that some people think that the track is overproduced and that music icon is relying on auto-tune.

Here’s the studio version.

What do you think? Did you like Aretha Franklin’s cover of “Rolling In The Deep?”

The new album, Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics, also includes covers of “Midnight Train To Georgia” (Gladys Knight & the Pips cover), “I Will Survive” (Gloria Gaynor cover), “Nothing Compares 2 U” (Sinéad O’Connor/Prince cover), and “No One” (Alicia Keys cover)

The new album will hit stores on October 21.
