89-Year-Old World War II Veteran Scores Touchdown At University Of Kansas Alumni Game [Watch]

Welp. Grab some tissues because here come the happy tears!

Bryan Sperry, an 89-year-old World War II Veteran scored the most amazing touchdown at the University of Kansas Alumni flag-football game this past Saturday. This former Jayhawks football player stole the show and it is obvious why.

Sperry received the ball around the 37-yard line and thanks to some generous blocking from his teammates, ran all the way to the end zone for one incredible touchdown.

The Kansas City Star had a detailed account of Sperry’s life story saying he played football at the age of 17 at Kansas State and was serving his country by 19 in World War II. When he returned from duty, he got a spot on the Jayhawks football team and even played in the 1948 Orange Bowl.

If his smile while running, literally running, down the field doesn’t put a smile on your face, you are definitely allergic to everything happy.

The video has been gaining viral speed ever since hitting the internet over the weekend. Facebook page, Whistle Sports’ version has over 16 million views, while the official Kansas Athletics YouTube video has close to 200,000 views.
