Fame allows celebrities to live forever through the works they’ve created and have received widespread acclaim from fans and critics. However, their achievements don’t make them immortal. Whether it’s due to circumstances or sheer coincidence, nobody is safe in the face of death – not even your favorite public figures.
However, these five people listed below have laughed at the face of death and were able to get back on their feet. Their experiences serve as cautionary tales that life is fragile and everything can be taken away from you in an instant.

The very talented drummer of Blink 182 was in a plane accident on September 19, 2008. Barker was the only person who survived after the Learjet 60 crashed into an airport in Columbia, South Carolina. The two pilots were killed during takeoff when it started experiencing engine trouble and had to return to the airport. One of the people killed was Barker’s security guard Che Still, who was one of the first people to identify Barker.
The drummer refers to his near-death experience as a “wake-up call.” He went into rehab and turned his life around. He then released an album, “Give the Drummer Some,” in March 2011 after a five-year-long hiatus.

Curtis James Jackson III was rising the ranks as controversial rapper 50 Cent with his underground single “How to Rob.” He was scheduled to film the music video for his other single “Thug Love” with Destiny’s Child when disaster struck.
On June 25, 2000, Jackson had just left his grandmother’s house in South Jamaica, Queens to get some jewelry when he was approached by two men who were trying to steal the chain around 50 Cent’s neck. When he resisted, Jackson was shot in the arm, legs, chest, hand, left cheek, and hip with a 9mm handgun at close range.
The shooting put Jackson in the hospital for thirteen days, after which he used a walker for six weeks and fully recovered after five months. Strangely enough, his brush with death was indirectly responsible for his rising fame and success.
During this time, Jackson was working on new material for the mixtape circuits. He then released “Guess Who’s Back” in 2002, the album that caught the attention of one Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem. From hereon, he became one of the most popular rappers in the world.

The popular vixen in the early ’90s had everything going for in her life. However, a fateful day in 2001 changed everything. She admitted herself to a hospital due to having experienced extreme pain in her head. Stone actually suffered a fatal aneurysm that caused bleeding in her brain due to a torn artery.
While she thankfully survived the ordeal and recovered after the surgery, Stone had to learn how to talk, walk, remember, and do things from the beginning. It was responsible for costing her career and marriage. Nonetheless, Stone was able to bounce back in life – she’s currently living with her three adopted children and has TV series and movie roles through the years.

A prominent fixture in Hollywood from the ’70s to the ’90s, Gary Busey has his fingers on numerous films and TV series. At the same time, he lived life on his terms, which was almost the reason that almost cost him the same thing.
As a motorcycle enthusiast, Busey lobbied against wearing helmets. He raised money to hire lobbyists to stand up against the law requiring bikers to wear a helmet.
Unfortunately, he found out the reason for needing one as he was involved in a motorcycle accident. Because he wasn’t wearing a helmet, the back of Busey’s head struck the curb and immediately underwent neurosurgery. According to doctors, had he arrived three minutes later, he would not have survived.
Conclusion
The accidents experienced by the five individuals above ended on good notes. Regardless of what caused the accident, they were able to bounce back through sheer will and determination.
At the same time, you need to know what to do when you’re put in these situations just like their celebrities did. For example, if you incur a vehicular accident in Houston, you need to contact a Houston car accident lawyer to help you secure your rights and get you back up to your feet in no time.
Preparing yourself once these things happen in your life allows you to survive not only death, but also financial, mental, and emotional anguish.
