30% Of Facebook Users Haven’t Seen Their Friends In Real Life, Study Finds

Facebook

While Facebook and social media in general has helped bring us closer together, according to a recent poll, 30 percent of Facebook users haven’t seen any friends in person recently.

In December, Zogby Analytics surveyed 1,000 U.S. adults who use Facebook on how many friends they saw in person over the last couple months.

53 percent have met 10 percent or less of their Facebook friends in the past two months, and just 15 percent of respondents have met between 76 and 100 percent of their friends.

From Susan MacTavish Best, founder of Living MacTavish where the results were published:

“This is even worse than I expected. Offline is the new online. In this era of constant texting, Tweeting and Facebooking, lots of us are hungry for slower-paced, face-to-face conversation.”

When was the last time you met your Facebook friends in person?
