200 Million Facebook Users Have Taken ‘A Look Back’

Facebook Look Back

Facebook rolled out personalized “Look Back” videos to users on its 10th anniversary, and according to executives, nearly 200 million people have watched their videos.

Yesterday, COO Sheryl Sandberg and CFO David Ebersman spoke at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference in San Francisco.

While both executives covered the usual, specifically advertising, they also touched on the recent videos.

From Sandberg:

“It was amazing. Almost 200 million people watched [their Look Back video], and 50 percent of people who watched their own video, shared it. It … showed the power of the Facebook brand.”

Here’s what Ebersman had to say:

“As we imagine a world where we build off the foundation we have with Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, and improve those products and bring other products forward, we want to make it easy for people to have the sharing experiences that they want to have.”

The customized video montages are available to all Facebook users, and shortly after launching, the social network added the ability to edit.
