It’s not often that a person gets to live their life to the fullest. After all, so much stands in the way of teenage thrill-seeking, such as school and eventually, work. We tend to miss out so much. Hence, one centennial grandma made do with what little time she had left– by getting herself arrested in her nursing home as part of her bucket list to-do.
Anne Brokenbrow is an impressive human being. Not only is she 104-years-old, she has also never broken a law in her entire life, not even jaywalking, apparently. Unfortunately, time is creeping up on her and even more unfortunate is that she still has not completed her bucket list. Among the activities listed there is to be arrested by the police. Here she is:
“My wish is… to be arrested. I am 104 and I have never been on the wrong side of the law,” she revealed. It would have been easy if only Anne was younger, but as it is, she has dementia due to old age. Thankfully, Stokeleigh Care Home in Bristol, UK had a charity where their resident seniors can write down their reasonable twilight year wishes to be fulfilled.
So, Anne got arrested by the police. She was willing to come quietly with them, so they handcuffed her gently and took her to the police station in a police car. One of the police recalled, “My colleague PC Stephen Harding arrested her, as far as I know, she’s the oldest person he’s arrested… She was smiling, she had a lovely time.” Needless to say, Anne felt fulfilled.
“I had a lovely day, it was interesting. Nothing like that ever happened to me before. They put the handcuffs on, I had the lot,” expressed Anne. Hopefully, that’s one experience she’ll never forget. Anne is now a 100 percent certified cool grandma.
