YouTube has announced that for the first time it will be promoting its creators with television commercials.
The first creators to be advertised will be Michelle Phan, Bethany Mota and Rosanna Pansino.
The venture into television advertising is in direct response to advertisers who want to see the Google owned video giant do more to promote its unique content to a broader audience.
As we reported April 1st, YouTube is pushing for a bigger slice of the advertising pie, including the introduction of reserved space for advance ad buys.
According to Tube Filter, ads featuring Phan, Mota, and Pansino will appear on The CW and ABC Family, along with print advertising in magazines include Allure, Seventeen, and Entertainment Weekly.
YouTube has previously advertised on television, although this will be the first time it will be advertising specific content creators.
