Trying to catch up on your viral videos over lunch? Too bad YouTube is down.
According to our internal social media analysis metric data (i.e., going to downforeveryoneorjustme.com and refreshing every couple of minutes), YouTube did indeed crash around 12:30PM CST and remains down as of this posting.
While there hasn’t been an announcement from YouTube on the outage, several users on Twitter have taken notice.
Hey @YouTube I’m pretty sure when I play a video I should see the video not a 502 error… Just sayin

Youtube is down. Millions of people have nothing left to do at their jobs but work. Horrifying. #youtube #thehorror — Andrew Lynagh (@comicmonkey) March 12, 2014
We’ve reached out to YouTube for comment and will update this post if they get back to us.
Hey, there’s always dailymotion (just kidding, don’t ever go to dailymotion).
