The Emmy Awards are one of the more underrated ceremonies that we have, though I feel like I hear a lot about them, the nominees and winners aren’t subjected to the scrutiny that’s common in the Grammys and Oscars. Also unlike the other award ceremonies, the 2016 Emmy Awards will highlight a lot of names and programs that you’re probably not very familiar with.
I am the happiest of course for my soul mate @tatianamaslany she must win!!!!!!! #Emmys

Unsurprisingly, Game of Thrones was the most nominated show this year. The show is nominated for best drama series after it won that same category last year. Veep is nominated for the best comedy series after the show took home that title in 2015, the show’s star and Seinfeld alum, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is also up for best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series after she won it last year.
Humbled by the Emmy nominations this morning. It makes up for getting snubbed at the ESPYs last night. #Emmys #NationalHotDogDay

This is the first year in #Emmys history that there are actors of color nominated in every leading actor category: https://t.co/vQqMWtFI65

We're thrilled that #Sherlock and Benedict Cumberbatch have been nominated in this year's #Emmys!

Benedict Cumberbatch is also up for a best actor in a limited series and as well as two actors in the OJ Simpson show. Silicon Valley is probably the biggest newcomer in the awards. Though the series is already in its third series, it hasn’t gotten much attention to this year and received 11 nominations, just above Downton Abbey and just below House of Cards at 13 Nominations.
