Vine now has over 40 million users, according to its official Twitter account.
Here is what the video sharing service had to say:
We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again: this community – now more than 40 million of you – is amazing. Thank you for inspiring us.
— Vine (@vineapp) August 20, 2013
In June 2013, Vine announced it had just 13 million users. Thanks to the app finally landing on Android, the service has more than tripled its userbase in less than three months.
When Instagram launched video towards the end of June, many questioned how big of an impact it would have. After all, Instagram has a significantly larger userbase with 130 million monthly active users, and allows up to 15-second videos versus 6-seconds.
Raising further concerns, just one week after Instagram rolled out video, sharing from Vine to Twitter had decreased nearly 70 percent.
While Vine has yet to release any details about active users, it’s pretty clear the app is showing no signs of dying anytime soon.
