According to the NY Daily News, Bono was biking in Central Park when he crashed. The singer hurt his arm and will reportedly need surgery.
The band said in a statement: “It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time – we’re one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”
u2 was scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show all week to promote their new album Songs Of Innocence. The band won’t be playing on Jimmy Fallon this week but it sounds like they’ll reschedule the shows as soon as Bono is back on his feet.
It hasn’t been the greatest week for Bono. The u2 singer had a pretty scary moment on a plane a few days ago when a door came off mid-flight. Bono reportedly lost some luggage in the incident but no one on the plane was injured.
