Twitter may be limited to 140 characters, but to some users, that’s no excuse to jack up your grammar.
This couldn’t be more evident than a tweet posted yesterday morning by President Barack Obama:
“No one is madder than me about the fact that the website isn’t working as well as it should … It’s going to get fixed.” —President Obama
— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) October 21, 2013
According to Merriam-Webster, madder is an actual word, and its definition is pretty self-explanatory.
However, in the minds of several Twitter users, that’s totally not the case:
@BarackObama “Madder” is not a word.

@BarackObama the term is “more mad”. “Madder” is a Eurasian plant.

While Barack Obama used a real word, he did make one simple grammatical error:
@BarackObama “madder” is correct….the “me” is not. Should be “madder than I” Use subjective case after verb, to be. U can do it!

Next up on the Congressional floor: President Obama introduces a new bill to ensure childrens do learn better in English class.
