eBay Adds Pinterest-Like Collections, Ability To Follow Others

eBay

eBay is becoming more than just a place to buy or sell things, and today announced several new features such as the ability to create “Collections” similar to Pinterest.

Users will be able to curate things that they like or enjoy, and follow other users.

Profiles have been redesigned to support the new Collections, and sellers can still showcase their products.

eBay Today was also announced, which features collections from the company’s own editorial director Michael Phillips Moskowitz, and celebrities like Pharrell Williams are involved.

Moving into the holiday season, spokeswoman Richelle Parham says there will be a large focus on mobile.

In 2012, eBay generated $13 billion in sales from mobile, and that number is expected to hit $20 billion in 2013.
