Tumblr Partners With Viacom, Kicks Off At MTV Movie Awards

Tumblr

Tumblr, less than one month after hiring its first director of media, has secured a partnership with Viacom, its first ever partnership with a TV network.

Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and Viacom will publish exclusive content, including ads, through Tumblr’s platform.

From CNET:

“The two companies will also have co-branded campaigns to brands and agencies during the upcoming “upfront season,” which is when networks trot out their coming TV lineup to the people who buy ad space on their channels.”

The MTV Movie Awards air Sunday, April 13, and MTV plans on sharing photos, videos and ever-so-popular GIFS leading up to the show, as well as during and after on Tumblr.

Earlier this year, Tumblr announced an over 30 percent increase in users from March 2013, and Yahoo has helped the social network finally monetize without scaring away users.
