Tony Soprano Is Alive, Says David Chase

It’s been a long time since HBO’s The Sopranos ended it’s run, but fans are still wondering about the fate of Tony Soprano.

The Sopranos finale left a lot of questions unanswered. Mainly, did Tony Soprano really die? The final scene of the HBO show abruptly fades to black as Tony (James Gandolfini) his wife (Edie Falco) and his son (Robert Iler) are eating dinner at a restaurant. But why? The most popular theory is that Tony Soprano was shot and killed by an unidentified man in a members only jacket.

You can watch the final scene of The Sopranos below.

So did Tony Soprano die? The guy did have plenty of enemies so it wouldn’t be too surprising for him to go out like that, but the finale didn’t really give an answer.

Well, The Vox recently interviewed The Sopranos creator David Chase who said that Tony may have survived the show’s final scene.

When author Martha P. Nochimson asked Chase if Tony Soprano was dead, he responded: “No, no he isn’t.”

OK, so where is Tony now? Was that really all that was left of his story? One final plate of onion rings? My theory is that David Chase has been asked this question 1.3 million times and he just alternates between “yes” and “no” now.
