These Celebrities Proved They Know More About Politics Than Trump In A Single Tweet

Celebrities Know More About Politics Than Trump

Once upon a time, Donald Trump was little more than a reality star with a weird hairdo and far too much money. These days, as the not-so-humble leader of our country, he has proven time and time again that he should have stuck to television. Not only does the guy know practically nothing about politics and history, he doesn’t even try to learn. But I guess that’s what we get for voting for a president who has more experience running companies into the ground than keeping them afloat. It’s only a matter of time before he starts filling out bankruptcy papers for the United States government.

Not all celebrities are a moronic as Trump, and many actually know far more about our government and politics. Some of them were even able to prove that in a single tweet. Check out these celebrity tweets that prove they know more about politics than Trump does.

Ashley Judd On Her Vision For America

Did we not grow up learning that America is a melting pot, a country that welcomes diversity? It would seem that many people have forgotten this, as this being a country where everyone is welcome feels like a distant ideal at this point. Ashley Judd’s vision for America wouldn’t have seemed so far out of reach just a few years ago, but today it seems almost impossible. These days bigotry appears to be the norm and kindness is a rarity.

John Legend’s Solution For Racism

While some people respond to racist comments and actions by shaming the people behind them on social media or standing up to them, John Legend proposed a great idea. A “multi-racial anti-racist coalition” would be a better solution to fighting racism, and bringing people together. How do we get this started? Seriously, this might be our last chance to save our country from another civil war.

Chelsea Handler Explains Global Warming

Trump may have been able to convince a large portion of the population that climate change is some kind of scam, but anyone with even an ounce of common sense and a history of walking outside several times throughout their lifetime knows better. While calling this scientifically proven occurrence “global warming” might be misleading and make some people believe that it’s about the weather getting increasingly warmer over time, Chelsea Handler has made sure that more accurate information made its rounds on Twitter. For those who are unaware, climate change is about experiencing temperature extremes, regardless of them being hot or cold. Something Trump likely knows nothing about since he spends most of his time on the couch watching television in a temperature controlled room.

Mia Farrow On The Travel Ban

Tyranny begins by instilling fear in the people. It’s like step one in Fascism 101 followed by labeling any disagreeable news reports as fake and bullying anyone who speaks out against them. For Trump, he started his presidency by instilling a fear of Muslims with his infamous travel ban. Not only did it prevent people from traveling simply because of the religion they practice, but it also affected American families with relatives overseas. Not cool. Mia Farrow, who is best known for playing Daisy in the original film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, points out that we might need better laws in place to govern a “tyrannical president.” Clearly, the ones we have in place aren’t getting the job done.

J.K. Rowling Laughs At Those Saying She Doesn’t Know American Politics

To say that J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books, doesn’t know anything about American politics is the understatement of the century. Especially coming from someone who claims to own the books. Not only does Rowling understand politics but she also comprehends how quickly a government can be overthrown when people aren’t paying attention. Trump might not be out to eliminate all muggle-born witches and wizards, but he certainly has made a dent in the United States’ immigrant population.

Stephen King On Sexism

It’s not uncommon for the king of horror to weigh in on politics these days, and his blunt humor is almost comforting. Trump might insist that he’s not sexist, but he clearly doesn’t know the definition of the word. King brings up a great point. Would a heavy woman be taken seriously in politics? Certainly not as serious as any man. Trump has since blocked King and no longer sees his tweets, but in retaliation, King decided to ban Trump from seeing his movies. Sounds fair to me.

Cynthia Nixon On Our Legal System

If you haven’t heard, Cynthia Nixon is running for New York State governor and one of the issues she’s focusing on the drastic injustices in our legal system. It’s not uncommon for white citizens to get away with minor crimes, while people of color are put in prisons for the same crime. Not to mention when what white people with money can get away with, but Trump knows all about that. The fact that our country’s legal system needs an overhaul is an understatement.
