Instagram is a hotbed for brands with some reportedly paying upwards of $1 million per month to advertise, and today Socialbakers published the latest stats.
The social media statistics company analyzed the top brands in March, and here were the top five based on followers:
- Victoria’s Secret – 4,209,740
- Nike – 3,937,152
- Forever 21 – 3,166,195
- Christian Louboutin – 2,375,329
- Starbucks Coffee – 2,263,696
Forever 21 was the fastest growing brand on Instagram, adding over 361,000 followers in March, closely followed by Nike at 331,245 followers.
Guess and GAP also joined the 300,000 plus club, and sunglasses maker Oakley finished out the top five with 263,693 new followers.
Here were the brands with the highest post engagement rate:
- Adidas Football – 12.44 percent
- LEGO – 11.44 percent
- Nike Football – 9.24 percent
- Xbox – 8.66 percent
- Nike Football – 8.53 percent
The fast-moving consumer goods business saw the highest engagement rate of any industry at 8.18 percent, followed by 6.4 percent for household goods, and 5.98 percent for the automotive industry.
Brandy Melville USA saw a whopping 9,973,534 interactions on Instagram, and here were the other breakout stars:
- Forever 21 – 8,519,588
- Aéropostale – 7,471,649
- Victoria’s Secret – 6,506,739
- Mercedes-Benz – 5,753,775
Driven by advertising, GoPro had the most successful Instagram photo, generating over 168,000 interactions and likes:
Starbucks Coffee didn’t trail too far behind, receiving over 125,000 interactions and likes:
Yesterday, a new study found that teens use Instagram the most of any social network, giving brands yet another reason to invest in the social network.
