‘Twictionary’ Translates Twitter For Social Marketers [Infographic]

Have you ever thought to yourself, “what the hell are they talking about on Twitter?” No, it’s not because you’re over 40. New Twitter buzzwords are created every single day making it difficult for anyone to keep up, including those whose job it is to figure out how to sell products to increasingly socially-minded demographics.

Hence, the visual “Twictionary,” a Twitter-picture-dictionary (and impressive portmanteau, I dare say) put together by social media marketer Jason Miller at Marketo. The infographic attempts to make sense of Twitter’s own unique language and to provide a “go-to” guide to help you catch up to the phenomenon before all of this gets included in the Merriam-Webster.

Miller officially calls it the “Marketer’s Urban Twictionary,” and doesn’t promise that you’ll understand or master Twitterspeak. Still, he says, “let’s have some fun and laugh out loud” at the phenomenon. We couldn’t agree more.
