The demon nun was the scariest part of 2016’s The Conjuring II. Which is saying something, since this is the horror film that social media says can supposedly summon real demons.
Now, The Nun is getting her own movie, and the trailer alone is so chilling that YouTube has removed it.
The fifth installment of The Conjuring series, the film will premiere next month, but one ad promoting the flick has majorly freaked-out even the stealiest of horror fans.
The 6-second clip starts with a black screen, with the volume button visible in the centre. The volume button suddenly descreases, making it look like the user’s volume controls are broken. This encourages viewers to turn the volume up. Then, while you’re distracted and your volume is on full, that’s when The Nun appears. Cue everybody sh*tting themselves.
And for many, this jumpscare is just too much. So, Twitter user @bbydvas felt a public service announcement was urgently needed.
They tweeted: “WARNING! If you see an ad on youtube with the volume sign being turned down and nothing else, ITS A JUMPSCARE for the new NUN movie coming out. I advise you look away and/or turn down the volume if you have anxiety or just straight up hate jumpscares, pls rt to save a life.”

The post has been retweeted over 150,000 times, and YouTube has responded by removing the clip, preventing the sponsored ad from playing before videos.
The video-sharing site: “Appreciate you bringing this to our attention! This ad violates our shocking content policy and it’s no longer running as an ad.”
