It is a moment that has gone viral. A teen goes in to a local Target store to buy a clip-on tie for his first job interview. The employee tells him that Target does not carry clip-on ties, but the story doesn’t end there.
The Raleigh, North Carolina Target employee, Cathy Scott, called over her co-worker, Dennis Roberts. Roberts proceeded to teach the nervous teen how to tie a real tie and helped him tuck in his shirt. The employees then gave him job interview advice and helped the teen work on his handshake.
The heartwarming moment was captured by a shopper. Audrey Mark says she noticed the employees talking to the teen and thought he was in trouble. As she continued to watch, she realized what was really going on. She snapped a photo and posted it to Target’s Facebook page.
Then, as the teen left the store, a crowd of Target employees cheered him on. It is moments like this that restore faith in humanity.
Mark writes on the Facebook photo, “THIS is true customer service – Right on the mark, Target! Fingers crossed for this kid’z interview!! Bought headbands, ham and had my heart warmed…I LOVE Target!!!”
The photo has been shared more than 500,000 times and the story has gone viral on social media and news outlets.
