‘SpiderDad’ Releases Tribute To Son Who Died of Cancer [Video]

Some of you may recall that amazingly sweet video of a dad suprising his five-year old son Jayden Wilson with a visit from “SpiderDad” on his birthday. Jayden was diagnosed with Cancer in August 2013, but dad Mike Wilson was determined to keep his smile right where it belonged.

The above video instantly went viral the moment it was launched. It also garnered positive attention from many online news organizations, and aimed to make a difference though fund raising for their chosen charity, Naomi House. The hospice supported the family through Jayden’s battle with the disease. The video also helped boost awareness of Jayden’s Facebook page, and fans the world over sent heartfelt messages of love and support.

Sadly, Jayden passed away of a brain tumor on the Christmas of 2014. Even after his son’s death, Mike Wilson continued his antics as SpiderDad to inspire people people all over the world and given them joy and hope.

Mike and a team of creatives now offer one of the most touching short films the Internet has seen this year. “I wanted it to look as much like a real film as possible,” Mike shares. “It’s a tribute to Jayden as spiderman was his favourite superhero, but it is also an opportunity to help raise money and awareness for the hospice which did so much for us. They continue to help us now.”

SpiderDad’s homepage gives us an inside look on how Mike Wilson put together one amazing character, out of pure love for his son.

In a poignant turn of events, the film was released right on time for Father’s Day. If the video below made you smile, why not give it a Like on Mike’s Youtube channel, and share it with your friends? Every click raises money for Naomi House and helps them do more good and spread more cheer to families struggling with disease around the world. Another way to help would also be to check out Rightster, Mike Wilson’s partner in handling the fundraising account.
