Smug Messenger Is Like WhatsApp, Rewards You For Inviting Friends

Smug

Smug Messenger, created by AppRedeem, is a messenger for iOS and Android that lets you send and receive unlimited text messages, photos, voice messages, and video messages.

When you invite friends, you collect points which can be redeemed for Amazon gift cards.

The messenger is designed to work on all mobile devices, iPods, iPads, iPhone, Android devices, tablets, and even mobile devices that only have Wi-Fi.

Smug Messenger’s team has been in steal mode for several months, working on the app which now offers a variety of features such as photo morphing, read receipts, voice messaging, group chats, and offline access, that are competitive with other mobile messaging services.

In the Android version of the app points from inviting friends can be exchanged for bitcoin, which can’t be exchanged on Apple according to their rules. Amazon and PayPal gift cards are available for those without the Android version.

This system is of course subject to abuse, and users could spam their friends with invites or try using the service only to gain points.

Sheffield Nolan, CEO of AppRedeem however, has been working in reward-based advertising for years now, and is experienced in spotting scammers and distinguishing them from who aren’t only using the app for those types of schemes.

SmugMessenger has no usernames, connecting only with phone numbers, email, or by integrating with your existing address book. The service is to be ‘free forever’ for users.
