Browser Tool Lets You See Anyone’s Email Address on LinkedIn

Why would you ever pay for a premium account on LinkedIn when you can view anyone’s email on the platform free of charge? New browser tool ‘Sell Hack’ lets you hack your way into LinkedIn’s system, and then gather the contact information of any person to your liking.

The browser plugin allows you to grab anyone’s email off the site and use it for their own, likely professional, purposes. It is compatible with Chrome, Safari, and the Firefox browser.

To use the plugin, you go to SellHack.com, click on the blue Install Sell Hack Extension button, which will redirect you to a page where you choose the browser you’re currently using. Once you have that picked, you are prompted to install the extension and depending on your browser will be asked to grant permission to the app to access your LinkedIn data.

LinkedIn’s Senior Manager of Corporate Communications reportedly made a statement saying LinkedIn members who downloaded Sell Hack should uninstall it immediately and contact Sell Hack requesting that their data be deleted.

There is caution when dealing with third-party extensions or apps that people and company’s recommend users exercise because plugins like Sell Hack are capable of uploading your private LinkedIn data without necessarily having your consent.
