Semi-Truck Jumps Over Lotus 1 Car, Sets World Record [Video]

An amazing new video recently hit the internet showing a Lotus Formula 1 car jumping over a semi-truck. Wait, that’s not right. The semi-truck is jumping over the Lotus 1.

Car And Driver reports that Mike Ryan, who drives the semi-truck, and Martin Ivanov, who drives the F1, are both experienced stunt drivers. They’ve performed stunts in various movies, including the Bond, Jason Bourne, and Fast and Furious franchises, but their latest stunt is for this commercial for EMC Enterprise.

The company writes on Youtube: “Why jump a giant semi-truck over a speeding Formula 1 car? If you’re EMC and Lotus F1 Team, it’s a unique way to demonstrate how we “Redefine Motorsports,” bringing the power of EMC technology to the Lotus F1 Team—and setting a world record in the process!”

That World Record, by the way, is longest jump by a semi-truck. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the semi-truck traveled 87 feet and 7 inches during the stunt.

Check out the video below.

This isn’t the first time that a company has used an extreme car stunt to sell a product. Remember that awesome video featuring Jean Claude Van Damme doing the splits over two semi-trucks? I have no idea what product they were selling but the advertisement was awesome.
