Rap Genius Founder On Insulting Mark Zuckerberg: ‘I Really, Really F*cked Up’

Rap Genius

Rap Genius founder Mahbod Moghadam is not a man to mince his words, and back in February 2013, had some choice words for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

It all started when Moghadam took a photo of Zuckerberg and rapper Nas, and posted it to Instagram despite Mark not wanting a picture taken.

Alcohol was involved, and after the photo got picked up by the press, Zuckerberg and Facebook’s PR team requested the photo to be taken down.

Then Moghadam said this:

“I regret taking it, I hope this has taught me some maturity, it certainly got me in a lot of trouble. But then on the other hand, fuck that fool – that’s Nas the Don.”

The lesson may have took a while to sink in, and in an interview published yesterday by NextShark, he opens up about the whole ordeal:

“Well you know as I’ve said many times, I feel terrible about insulting Mark Zuckerberg. That was supposed to be a joke and a lot of people just didn’t get it and it came off that I am insulting this guy who I have tremendous respect for, and the crazy thing is that huge amount of support that he showed Rap Genius before I f*cked it up. He had our back when people talked sh*t about us and so I really, really f*cked up. That was a perfect example of me trying to make a joke and it totally f*cked everything up, so I truly regret it.”

Moghadam went on to say that Facebook “is a game changer,” and he sees Rap Genius and the social network as sisters in relation to allowing people to communicate.
