Pinterest More Than Triples Revenue To Online Retailers On Cyber Monday, Says New Report

Pinterest

Pinterest played a big role during the biggest shopping days of the year, according to a new report, and more than tripled Cyber Monday revenue to online retailers.

Social marketing/analytics company Piqora analyzed data from online retailers, and also found that revenue through Pinterest doubled on Thanksgiving, including Black Friday.

The company also analyzed top tags on the social network, and found that boots and coats were the most popular keywords.

From CEO Sharad Verma:

“[Pinterest users] are pinning to buy and they are going to Pinterest to look for products to buy. They thought of Pinterest as a destination for their holiday shopping circuit. That never happened with F-commerce or Twitter, else we would have known it by now.”

While revenue through Pinterest to online retailers saw an increase, traffic on the social network was normal due to users spending more time researching what to buy.

Last month, Piqora found that the average Pinterest pin generates 25 percent more sales than in Q4 2012.
