Pinterest on Thursday added a new level of verification to its system. Officials announced a new product called “website verification” which allows users to find out more info about the people or products they follow.
The new program also allows users to highlight their own website at the top of their profile page.
Pinterest plans to roll out other new features in the coming months.
In a company statement officials proclaimed:
“We’ll be rolling out these features on the web this week, so it’s possible you won’t see the verify website option in your settings immediately.”
Verifying a website is as simple visiting the platforms settings page and clicking on Verify Website.
The statement continues:
“When your website is verified, people will see a checkmark next to your domain in search results. They will also see the full website URL and checkmark on your profile.”
As of right now the website verification platform for profile pages only serve top-level domains right now, such as .com, .biz and .info.
Do you see the value in using website verification for Pinterest profiles?
