NYC Hair Stylist Gives Haircuts To The Homeless On Sundays

A 30-year-old hair stylist from New York City spends each Sunday giving haircuts for free. Why free? Because his Sunday clients are all homeless.

Mark Bustos works at Three Squares Studio but spends part of his weekend walking around New York City offering people haircuts who cannot afford them. Bustos’ story recently went viral and became a top trend on Facebook. Bustos began giving haircuts to the homeless back in 2012 during a visit to the Phillipines. He spoke to Huffington Post and said, “The feeling was so rewarding, I decided to bring the positive energy back to New York City.”

Most of his cuts are posted to his Instagram account, where it caught Buzzfeed’s attention. Bustos likes to cut the hair in plain sight so other’s will see and hopefully be inspired to do a good deed of their own.

His motto being “Be awesome to somebody.” That hashtag can be seen in many of his photos. Check out snaps of his Sundays below.
