The internet, on the other hand… well, it looks like the internet is intent on dragging up old stories, making up rumors, and sharing nude photos of the journalist.
Peaches Geldof was found dead yesterday at the age of 25 at a home in Kent. Police have not determined a cause of death yet, but her age, coupled with her family history, has many people speculating that she overdosed.
Police didn’t find any hard drugs on the premises but that hasn’t stopped the rumors. Peaches’ mother, Paula Yates, died of a drug overdose in 2000 and many believe that her 25-year-old daughter suffered a similar fate. A Reddit comment from 2000 is also being shared as more “evidence.” The comment details a one night stand that Peaches reportedly had with a Redditor four years ago. In addition to some nude photos, the commentator also claims that he did heroin with the celebrity.
This was big news in 2010. It was a major tabloid story and ultimately cost Peaches her job with British underwear brand Ultimo.
So what does this mean today? Absolutely nothing.
The Metro reports that police found no hard drugs on the premises, no signs of injury, and no suicide note. At the moment, police believe that the 25-year-old died of natural causes.
A Kent Police spokesman said: ‘The death is being treated as a non-suspicious, but unexplained, sudden death. The local coroner has been informed and a post-mortem is expected to be carried out in the next few days.”
We can’t stop the rumors from spreading rumors and nude photos of Peaches Gendolf but we can choose how we want to remember her. As the loving mother of two children or, for Fifi Geldof, a wonderful little sister.
