Rick and Morty is a hilarious adult cartoon that follows the life of two bizzare characters, Marty McFly and Emmett Brown.
Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have released their new episode of Rick and Morty on Instagram before it airs on TV. This of course means that anyone who wants to watch it before it comes out on Cartoon Network has to watch 109 individual 15 second Instagram clips. How’s that for content marketing?
The experience of watching it in separate clips isn’t as annoying or awkward as you might think. If you haven’t seen Rick and Morty, it’s a frantic comedy where there’s always something funny, weird, or crazy happening at every turn.
The plot itself is so random that you could enjoy it even if you watched it in random sequences or backwards.
What’s really interesting is that in most of the 15 second clips there’s a joke, statement, or action that someone out there will probably laugh at in their own right. So it’s almost as if the show was meant to be consumed in bit-sized video clips.
