The new Myspace has been in beta for several months and on Tuesday the newly revamped social network officially opened to everyone. To sign up users can access their existing Myspace account or create a new one by visiting here. With the new site the social network has received a huge redesign and is now heavily focused on music discovery.
On January 14, Justin Timberlake, a key investor, launched his new single “Suit And Tie” featuring Jay-Z which is displayed prominently on the homepage. Visitors are enticed to join or sign in to get an exclusive listen to the new song that will be part of the first album that Justin has released in seven years.
Back in November of 2012, leaked slides from Myspace revealed their plans to make its relaunch successful. Its goal is to raise $50 million in new funding with $10 million going towards marketing, $15 to $25 million going towards licensing deals with music labels, and $15 to $25 million going towards “general working capital.”
Myspace has a long road ahead, but the newly revamped social network looks very promising as it offers a unique experience to music lovers worldwide.
