Microsoft is now offering a free Office 365 account to college students. The free educational version of productivity suite provides college users with three months of free access to Office 365 University.
If users are willing to share their new free account recommendation with Facebook users Microsoft will double the users Office 365 account to six months free.
Sharing on Facebook also enabled 20GB of extra storage space on Microsoft SkyDrive and 60 minutes of free Skype calls each month.
Microsoft is making a big push towards the college student demographic so connect with them via Facebook makes a lot of sense. While younger children are believed to be gravitating away from Facebook college students are still using it en masse.
Microsoft charges $80 for a four-year subscription to Office 365 University which means users who sign up and share on Facebook save on average $10. While that isn’t a huge savings it’s still a $5 bill in the users pocket just for clicking a Facebook ‘Like’ button.
