Memorials and Events for 20th year Anniversary of 9/11

This year is the 20th-year anniversary of 9/11 – one of the most devastating moments that happened not just in the U.S. but all over the world. This horrifying event has turned the world upside down and changed the world in ways we never expected.  The most we can do for all the people who lost their lives that day is to remember. We must never forget praying for the victims, the survivors, and the families who lost loved ones.

Even in a global pandemic, we must not forget to remember the September 11 attacks. Let us all join together in these events and memorials for 9/11:

9/11 memorials almost cancelled

The 20th-year anniversary of 9/11 fell at the worst of times. The global COVID-19 pandemic has almost put a halt to memorials and events that would be held to honor the lives of victims and survivors of the attacks. But, memorials will be pushed through and people all over the world could even attend some of these virtually.

The memorials are almost held back not just because of the pandemic. Just a month ago, families of victims and survivors have told President Biden not to attend any memorials or events for 9/11 if he refuses to release confidential documents on the attacks. This is then followed by a messy and controversial military pull-out plan from Afghanistan, marking the end of a 20-year U.S. military presence in the country. President Biden has since ordered the de-classification of the said documents.
