Unless it is an expensive, significant purchase most folks don’t request receipts. However, what many persons don’t realize is that while visiting certain restaurants and retailers, asking for a receipt can alter your whole experience in the grandest way.

Kamran Adnan, who for a year worked at McDonald’s assorted locations in his city, disclosed in a forum that the staff typically gives ‘special treatment’ to customers who request a receipt.

Evidently, employees of the fast-food chain in many cities are trained to be on alert for “Gapbusters” or “mystery shoppers.”

These are individuals who are compensated to visit restaurants and retail stores then rate their experience. “This [the review] then goes to the overall store rating and every store manager will do everything to ensure this rating is as positive as possible,” Adnan explained.

These mystery shoppers are tough to spot because they behave and look like any other customer. Though accordant to Adnan, they normally tend to come in between 12 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., and they request always a receipt so they can be reimbursed by their employer.
