A politician’s life is nothing short of busy, jammed packed with supporting local businesses, keeping the city in order, and campaigning.
However, it gets a little crazier when a politician gets impersonated, such as what happened with Angela Loughran, the mayor of Stafford.
The man believed to have impersonated the mayor goes by the name of James Billington. He created the twitter handle @mayorofstafford with a profile that has the following bio: “I’m James Billington, the current Mayor of Stafford. Delighted to be representing the town of Stafford & surrounding areas. Views are my own. “
He started tweeting on March 8, and soon after some residents and local businesses were convinced that he was the mayor.
James Billington put up photos of him doing things such as cutting ribons at theme parks, and creating pins with the words ‘I’m The Mayor” on them.

The Stafford Borough Council eventually caught on to the prank, and requested that the Twitter account be shut down. However, the account still appears to be active.
