Last week we announced that American Express, the premiere credit card for business and high-end users had checked into Foursquare and this week the company has announced a new luxury partner in the Ritz-Carlton brand.
The company, which was quick to grab up @RitzCarlton on Twitter and engage users on Facebook before their competitors has announced a new Foursquare initiative called “World Concierge.”
The new service will see the company’s concierge’s at all 75 of their worldwide locations updating the site with tips for visitors, creating a knowledge base about their hotels and surrounding attractions that will be updated weekly to keep hotel visitors on top of everything going on in the hotel and around the cities they are visiting.
According to Ritz-Carlton Company chief sales and marketing officer Chris Gabaldon:
“Guests of The Ritz-Carlton have always enjoyed the expertise of concierges who are the best in the business. Their local knowledge, VIP access and incomparable contacts make them an invaluable resource for travelers.”
Foursquare users can visit the Foursquare pages for Ritz-Carlton for valuable information or check in at any Ritz-Carlton location in the world to receive those same tips. Tips from the luxury hotel chain may also show up when you’re looking for information in cities where they operate.
With Foursquare recently raising $50 million in funding and preparing to expand their services and global reach it shouldn’t be long before other company’s jump on the Foursquare bandwagon at a quick clip.
