There is good news and bad news for music fans. Lou Reed, the legendary singer behind the group The Velvet Underground, has passed away. On the bright side, “Mambo No. 5” singer Lou Bega is still alive and kicking.
Several people apparently got the two Lous mixed up this week and started mourning the loss of Lou Bega. The singer received so many messages on his Facebook page that he had to issue a response telling his fans that he is still alive.
Bega writes on Facebook that the mix up started after he was accidentally named in an article by an anonymous journalist.
The singer attempted to clear things up on Facebook, writing: “R.I.P Lou Reed the Genius who took Walks on the Wild side. PS: i have been receiving Tons of condolences because of a Journalist confusing our Identities. Lou Bega sends his condolences to mr.Reeds Family.”

So just to clear things up. This is Lou Bega….
…. and this is Lou Reed.
