Earthquakes are a part of daily life in California, but a 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook up Los Angeles residents a bit more than usual around 6:25 AM.
Originally a 4.7, it was downgraded by the U.S. Geological Survey, and was said to have been felt over a large area of Southern California.
Twitter users were quick to report the tremors, some more relaxed than others:

Just experienced a 4.7 earthquake here in Los Angeles. Although the shaking has stopped, I haven't.

Los Angeles #earthquake now "downgraded" to a 4.4. Still largest shake in LA since aftershocks to Northridge in 1994! @cbsnewyork
