The Kaye Effect: Why Shampoos Sometimes “Squirt” Everywhere


Just today I was washing my lovely mane (I actually have only three hairs like Homer Simpson) and I noticed when I went to put what I like to call a ‘dollop’ of shampoo in my hand a bunch of said shampoo suddenly squirt everywhere like some scary money shot from some online smut, and I thought to myself:

Scientifically speaking, I wonder why that happens?

So imagine my wonder when I saw this video today answering that very inquiry, whilst also adding lotions into the mix, which also love to squirt:

Okay, I have used the word squirt too much in this article to write anymore without feeling slightly uncomfortable (in the best way possible).
